My wife and I moved here from out of state. Everything was satisfactorily bearable. It's generally cheap in construction/maintenance, typical for a budget apartment. The noise was a problem as we were closest to the highway. Blinds don't shut out the light from the parking lot lights across the street at Giant Eagle. Safety' I never got mugged, but didn't FEEL safe. It's conveniently located near Detrick and shopping. Storage units are in a locked room, but anyone with a key to the room (and they need only ask) can get into the storage areas. Don't put anything of value in the storage area at ALL. There is only chicken wire separating the units. There was also water all over the floor of storage and the 'dry' units were taken. Don't expect to have extra space.

We only had problems with our upstairs neighbor. Their kids were LOUD during the day and shook the lights with pounding, but at night, they were quiet. I got cussed out by the 5 year old and the mother just watched it happen. When I tried to talk to the mother about it, I was threatened by her calling the police. She also said her kids would never do that, even though she was right there watching/listening to it 7 feet away... seriously. I figured, whatever, we're only staying here for 3 months. One bad apple. Some neighbors are a little scary.

The staff sticks to the paperwork and agreements rigidly, but they do make an effort most of the time on maintenance. Only bad experience here is our washer/dryer was broken upon move in. The knob was misaligned so when it said it was starting the wash cycle, it was really ending the spin cycle or OFF, depending. The staff didn't listen to me initially and finally sent maintenance over. He verified that he could get water coming into the machine and left... then we fixed it ourselves.

I could tough it out here if I needed to for a few months. Try somewhere else if you're thinking of staying permenantly.
