Disappointing

First let me say what I don't like about this place; 1) there are no ceiling lights in any of the bedrooms or the living room. When we looked at the Apt. we didnt think to look to see if there would be ceiling lights as it was during the day with all the windows open, only to move in and at night fall be forced contain ourselves in the only rooms that had lights (kitchen and bathrooms). 2) the listing of the apartments says "Ceiling fans on fourth floor apartments." Well that is meant to include only the living room and not the bedrooms. 3) The parking is grossly inadequate; there are typically 16 units/building and "most" will have at least two people thus two cars and the parking outside of the buildings satisfies less than half the building units. Be prepared to have to "hike" just to get from your car to the apartment. Oh yeah, this is a daily occurance. 4) In an effort to cut costs, the residences are now going to have to pay for their own air conditioning system filter. So now when jo schmo breaks the system, gets the wrong filter, or hurts himself installing it, now how will their cutting costs help them out after they have to replace an entire apartment system. They have not provided any guidance as to how or how often.

This place is not worth it. Our rent goes up every year and we have nothing to show for it.

What apartment has built in lighting in bedrooms and living room? In my 20 years of apartment living I have never seen that as a feature in any apartment. Did you look at your apartment before you moved in? I currently live at Baker Place and I have rented a car port in front of my building. Parking is not an issue for me. I have never had to pay for an ac filter in fact I replace my filter every 30 days and when I ask for replacements I usually get three at a time. I think its very telling that people who usually complain should have bought a house.

Well for starters they didn't show us the apartment we would be living in because some one was still in it. They showed us a model APT. With over head lighting. Second, you wouldn't understand fighting over parking because you rented a covered parking spot. As for the AC filters, they only once had someone come into the APT and clean and change the filter. Out of three years living there once is pretty bad. It was even in the monthly news letter to make sure WE are changing our AC filters. Not my words theirs. APT living should be care free when it comes to these things. Last time I checked I wasnt given a class in changing the AC filter. What if I had done something wrong? I am sure I would have been charged for it. Even though I was never told by the staff how to do it.

Legally, according to their contract, that they have you sign a lease for, they, the Manor, are responsible for replacing all of the filters (any maintenance on the heating or a/c unit). If they failed to do so then obviously not keeping up with their required jobs of making sure the filters are changed on a monthly basis causing breathing and lung issues.
