I lived here for 3 years. Initially it was ok but after a while we started to have some problems. There are good and bad things about any place and oakwood is no different so let me list the bad things then you can decide if you can live with them;

1. Management: It took 6 months, 20 phone calls and a letter to the corporate offices to have a dripping tap fixed.

2. Punk Ass Kids: These are a bunch of kids no older than say 13 but with what appears to be a combined mental capacity of a 10 year old. They stand in the roads refusing to get out of the way. They abuse you verbally and threaten you physically (This is not a big deal because they soon turn on their heels if you look like you might respond). They deliberatley and wantonly cause criminal damage to cars in the parking lot (I had to call the police about this after management refused to do anything)

3. Leaks: A leaky roof when it rained heavily meant we had a crumbling ceiling and damp running down the inside of the wall. It was so persistent in the summer that it began to trace the outline of the electrical cable behind the wall....not good!

4. Noise: This is a more recent problem. Before I moved out noise was becoming a real issue. People working late arriving and leaving with car radios blaring. Teenagers having drag races along the main road in front of the complex, despite the fact that about four cop cars are parked at a gas station 100 yds away having coffee and donuts all night.

5. Their handling of packages was not relibale. It took me four days to get a package from them one time. They kept telling me they had not got it and I kept telling them fedex had sent me an electronic copy of the signature. Finally I managed to coax it from them.

6. The grounds: If you ever want to see how the economy is affecting every day life...look at the grounds. They used to be spotless but in the last 12 months they are looking overgrown and dirty with trash beginning to appear more frequently.

7. Construction: Not the best. There are twisted and bent nails sticking up from the boards of the balcony. When it was painted they contractor just sprayed over everything that was already on the walls, bird ----, dirt, dust everything.
