I moved into Oakwood Feb. 2005, it was the only place I could find that had 3BR's on the 1st that would accomodate my elderly father who was coming to live with me.

Problems began right away:
#1 - NO HOT WATER - After several vsts. by the maint. dept., they kept telling me nothing was wrong, I finally called the housing authority & paid for a pvt. plumber to come & inspect the unit & it was declared a BURNED OUT UNIT THAT NEEDED TO BE REMOVED.I was reimbursed by management but all this could have been avoided.
#2 - Windows/doors - you could feel the cold air coming in.
#3 - Shelving unit fell down twice in one BR
#4 - Oven door fell off - took 3 days for them to fix
#5 - After being there for 3months the neighbors from "HADES - H..LL" moved in upstairs. It sounded as if they were practicing for a bowling team every nite & all day Sat./Sun. I hated coming home from work as the mgt. never did anything about all this noise & in fact asked me if I wanted to move to another unit at my own expense. Why should I move when I was there first & not the one making noise. I have lived in other apts. & people had children in units above me but I NEVER had the constant noise and disrespect I received while at Oakwood/Archstone

After all the above turmoil and the documented issues I had with mgt. of Oakwood I moved out on Sept. 2005 and have yet to get my deposit back from Oakwood/Archstone.

I would not recommend this place to anyone, in fact I tell people looking for apts. NOT TO APPLY.....
