I've lived in 7 different apartments accross the country and Archstone Gaithersburg is at the bottom of the list. They are great at helping you before you sign a lease, and talk about "customer satisfaction" quite a bit, but after living here for 18 months I've found that is the biggest facade. I've never met a staff that is such a pain to work with and don't care at all about customer satisfaction. I've had 3 maintenance issues that dragged on for weeks, until I finally called Archstone corporate to contact the site manager and get the issue resolved. I've found Archstone corporate has been helpful, but the actual site staff is slow and typically do not return phone calls.

The initial apartment I saw was the model and it was nothing like the actual unit when I moved in, even though I was repeatedly assured the actual unit is identical to the model I was seeing. If you are touring the property make sure you ask to see the actual unit. If you do decide to move in, know that dealing with the staff is going to be a pain and that they are unwilling to work with you. Once you sign the lease you are just another number who sends a check in every month and just another person who got duped thinking they actually meant custommer satisfaction.
