Don't even think about renting here. Every negative posting you've read below so far is a fair (and probably) correct assessment. I've been living here for only 5 months and have been regretting my choice and kicking myself for moving here ever since. I am seriously considering breaking my lease. The postings you've read about people having mice and roaches in your apartment is absolutely correct. If you enjoy living amongst roaches and mice, then Cider Mill Apartments is for you! If you enjoy waking up to the smell of weed in your apartment (even though you're not a weed smoker), welcome to Ghetto Mills! If you enjoy coming home every day to a musky smell in your apartment (from the mice's body odor, of course!) that NEVER goes away no matter how much you try to air out your apartment, then Cider Mills is # 1 for you (not)! I've seen mice on six different occasions in my unit and I've never experienced this before. I keep my kitchen sparkling clean and lock up my food in plastic bins and still, the mice will not go away. Don't think this is a case where "oh well she's dirty and this won't happen to me," because it will happen to you, no matter how clean you keep your place. It doesn't matter because no matter how clean you are, your dirty next door neighbors will attract more mice to their units and eventually to your unit. Before moving here, I visited this website and thought after reading these mostly negative posts "oh, they're probably just bitter and they probably kept dirty units" but it's not true. I keep a very clean unit and the mice and roaches still keep coming. Listen to your instincts. Look around at other less ghetto apartments to live in. Sure, the rent is cheaper here than most in the area (I pay $1012 a month for a 1 bedroom) but that doesn't mean you deserve shoddy maintenance service just because you pay cheaper rent than others. I still deserve to have someone to come out and destroy the vermim and rodents in my unit in an expeditious manner and AT LEAST SPEAK ENGLISH! Another "lovely" problem is whenever my neighbors use the bathroom upstairs, I can hear the water passing through the pipelines in the wall. While it is important to read everything carefully to get a balanced view (even though some of these posts are a bit ridiculous), the vast majority of the negative ones are true. So whatever you do, take the advice you've read seriously, look around at other places in the area first and use Ghetto Mills Apartments as your LAST RESORT.

Oh another thing, the closet grocery store in walking distance (Safeway) is closing down permanently this week (seriously - I wonder why, with all of the crimes that go on in this area) so the nearest grocery store is now driving distance.

all i have to say to this poster is---you should have listened to my "ridiculous" post. and i wonder how much longer until you find the black mold or get harrassed by the many illegal immigrants that live in cider mill. also---how was the couple shooting incidents that happened last month? if i were you, i would break the lease. they make your life hell, but it is worth it once you are out.

I am truly suffering as well I have killed at least 8 mice since I am here and I live on the top floor so I have no idea how or where they are getting in. Now I am seeing an army of cockroaches as well. I will be contacting the health dept again about this place. Let's not even get started about the illegal immigrants and how many of them are in some of the apartments!
