My wife and I moved into this place in desperation and boy what a mistake. Although the maintenance folks are quick to respond, once they get there, they do a half-baked job. For example, there was a leak in the apartment below us, so they came to our apartment to check it out. After removing the wall from inside our bathroom sink cabinet, it was deemed that the leak was not coming from our apartment. It's about 8 months later, and no one has come to replace the wall back there. We have a cat and had to use cabinet locks (like the kind used for small children so they can't get into the cabinets) to keep our cat out of there.

ROACHES! There are roaches, big ones, small ones, fat ones, skinny ones, and they are all ugly. It's like that scene in Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom where the chick is trying to get Indy and Shortround out of the collapsing spiky room. That scene where big nasty bugs are crawling all over the place and you couldn't go anywhere without bugs being there to rear their nasty little heads. Yeah, like that. They send a guy in once a year to spray around, but it doesn't really help. It doesn't matter how clean your apartment is either. They just keep coming back.

NOISE! The walls, ceilings and floors are all paper thin. If it's not the neighbors upstairs gettin' it on, it's the neighbors downstairs throwing a party every Monday and Tuesday all day and all night. Also, the pipes vibrate and make these awful groaning noises whenever my neighbors or I use any water fixture. It's enough to wake someone up at night. I can even hear it through headphones!

AC! The air is run off site like a school system's is. For example, you can't get cold air before a certain date in the summer, no matter how hot it gets before that. And you can't get warm air in the winter before a certain date, no matter how cold it gets. It's insane.

CRIME! Two women in one year were assaulted despite the police car parked out front of the place. I've seen it moved a couple of times, but I don't think any police officers actually live here.

TRASH! The trash depository is awful. It's not a dumpster, but a collection of trash cans that our neighbors selectively choose to use. Sometimes you can't even get in there because there is a wall of trash blocking the entrance. You can imagine the smell.

LAUNDRY ROOM! The laundry room is a scary room in the basement with one way in and out and a small window close to the ceiling. Wouldn't want to be in there if someone off the street decided to come in and make some trouble for someone. We have resorted to doing our laundry at a laundromat.

I'll mention some good things about this place, but to me, they just don't compare to the bad stuff. The staff is very nice, and the maintenance staff are friendly and approachable. Although they have instituted a parking pass system, there has always been ample parking for our building. The grounds are not dirty. There was a water main break during our stay here, and they took a while to fix it, and it left us without water on several occasions, but it's done now and our water works like it did before.
