A Nice Place To Live; Too Bad The Maintenance Stinks

I moved into the Hunt Club Apartments in June 2002 and just moved out this month. The first time I used the dishwasher I noticed a leak coming from the bottom seal; the timer didn't work correctly either. I decided to check all of the other appliances and found that the vent duct in the back of the dryer had a huge hole in it, which meant the dryer was venting directly into my apartment. I called the leasing office and was told that these problems would be taken care of in the next day or two. Well, almost one month later (and repeated daily calls and visits to the leasing office) I contacted the head office of Aimco and was finally given a new dishwasher (I had fixed the vent duct myself in the meantime).
Another ongoing issue was the lighting in the hallways and parking lots. When I first moved in all the lights in the parking lot were functioning correctly. About two weeks later, I noticed that some of the lights weren't coming on at night. Sometimes it was just a few lights and other times it was all of the lights in my lot. Again, I contacted the leasing office and was told they were aware of the issue and had someone working on it. After another few weeks of visiting the leasing office (and being lied to) I again contacted Aimco's head office. A few days later, someone came out and worked on the lights for a day or two and then left. Afterward, a few of the lights still didn't work and, to make matters worse, whomever had done the work left live wires hanging out from the side of the light posts. This time, I actually took pictures and sent them directly to Aimco. A few days later the covers were back on the light posts but the original issue still hadn't been addressed. Just last week, all of the outside lights in the stairwell of my building were out for most of the evening. The lights in the parking lot still don't work on a regular basis.
I also agree with the other reviewers and their assesment of the visitor parking issue. I own a dog so I walk around the complex at all times of the day/night and have never noticed a parking problem; there are always plenty of empty spaces. Management just didn't reserve enough visitor spots once they started the visitor parking policy.
It's really too bad that the management doesn't seem to take pride in the maintenance and upkeep of the complex since it is really a nice location and well landscaped (lots of trees and open spaces). The only plus about the Hunt Club Apartments is their willingness to accept dogs that weigh over 50lbs (for an extra fee of course).
