Where should I start' Living at Hunt Club has been THE most stressful & fustrating experience of my life so far. Originally, when we first moved to Hunt Club in September of 2001 we were promised a one bedroom apartment. We ended up getting a Handicapped apartment, which meant we had no cabinets in the bathroom, handrails in the shower, no shelves in the utility closet and the shelves in the bedroom closet were only about 3 to 4 feet high. But, we were willing to live with it - no big deal. Then, our dishwasher broke & ended up spitting water all of the counter. It took them a month before they gave us a new one.
Then, our garbage disposal broke and it took them 2 weeks before they fixed that. They arrived so quickly this time because we visited the leasing office every day for 2 weeks.
We signed up for the "express rent" service so our rent would be automatically charged to our Mastercard every month. We had to fill out the form 3 times because they lost the first two - which contained our credit card information. Then, the leasing staff ended up charging the wrong amount to our card for 3 months - which caused our account to have an outstanding balance. This balance was finally cleared when the corporate office called asking for their money.
The "exercise room" they have here has a nautilus-type weight machine that has been broken since February 2002, it is now almost September.
We moved to a larger apartment in early 2002 and upon moving in our Screen door was broken. After a month of calling for a service call - we gave up and fixed it ourselves.
Now, the most recent problem is the parking situation. The leasing staff recently assigned visitor parking spaces. Which makes no sense because there is ample parking throughout the complex. The complex has 30 - 40 buildings with the average building having 14 apartments a piece. Some do have less than 14 apartments in a building. They have assigned a total of 34 visitor spaces for the entire complex!!! My friend already had his car towed, despite the fact that he parked in an area when no one parks - as far away from the buildings as you can get! We thought it was going to be visitor parking because that's what a leasing agent told us, but upon confronting her with this statement she told me I was lying. So much for respecting your tenants and trying to remain professional.
We are now struggling with the decision of wheather or not we want to hang around for another 6 months or break or lease and get the hell out of here.
I will admit that Hunt Club does have a couple of Pros: The maintenance workers are extremely nice - there just isn't enough of them - the last time I checked there were 2 guys for the entire complex.
Hunt Club does accept dogs of all sizes and it is beautifully landscaped, so you and your dog have plenty of room to walk around and meet other doggy people. SEk1KnECheF1ATXbXtrZ
