We have lived here over a year and are definitely moving on. The apartment is large enough for a 2 bedroom and great if you never want to see your neighbors. We rarely hear anything. However, the outside maintenance is bad, always dirty, never cleaned, piles of phone books left by the mailboxes, dead bugs, etc. The bug guys say everyone gets bugs -- contrary to what the managment says.
Staff turnover is high although they seem nice enough but can appear "snobby" and often make you feel as if you are interrupting them.
Pool hours are horrible, open only until 7 or 8 pm and not adequate for working stiffs. Office hours are 9:30-5:30 and if you work, you have to wait until the weekends to get your packages, mail, etc. Maintenance staff cares more about hanging out in the parking garage and polishing their cars than they do with fixing things. Trash compactor is always full and you often have to just drop the bags at the gate.
Not too much noise, only when you are in a bathroom and can hear your neighbors in theirs, your upstairs neighbor flushes, they run a vacuum or uses the washing machine. Anyone walking and talking in the hallways is heard in your living room. The apartment building numbers are confusing and you will often get a mistaken knock on your door.
Not the place if you want a good deal for this amount of money ($1200 for 2 bd) that increases yearly. Not the place for little kids, no activities or community involvement. If you want a nice quiet place, where the paint is so cheap if you brush against it it leaves marks, or the horrible beige carpeting that stains no matter what, then this is the place for you.
I do have to say that knowing all this, it is a good place for certain types of people. Just make sure this is what you want when you move in. No night life, singles scene, family scene, just a nice quiet, high priced, fair-to-mediocre-in-quality apartment that is close to the MARC station.
