The "glowing" review by the prior person was done by the new apartment owners and managers trying to entice people to rent. Notice the "SWF" trying to create a sense of comfort for women. Nobody writes a review like that, ever. Get a grip--the even handed approach, acknowledging some things, but dismissing them on seemingly acceptable grounds, and making comments regarding the ratio of rent vs floor space in the area--those are comments that a business person would focus on. So, be aware of the source here.
If there's a gate, presumably for security, how come it has never been operational since it was installed' This place is loaded with people from every ethnic background and you will encounter groups walking around at night that you frankly don't feel comfortable seeing. I also don't like driving up to my apartment and seeing cop cars with the lights flashing.
Since the new management took over in Sept, nobody's being notified of their renewals, the new management is gouging people much more than the prior management on price, they've reduced their office hours (at least the prior managemnet had a service ethic), and governance of tenants has gone to hell in a handbasket (people leaving trash out--depsite countless complaints, nobody in the front office takes these complaints seriously). Did I mention that the maintenance staff is demoralized with the new management (they say so)'
This is an outrageously expensive apartment for what you get. $1400 vs $900 only 5 years ago--no improvements since then. I have many nails poking up though the carpet, the tiling in my floor are coming apart (and sinking), the decks are a splinter nightmare, the faucets and toilet handles are extremely cheap and fall apart easily, and the blinds on the windows fall apart from routine use in less than a year.
You will notice if you come here how well landscaped the place is. They put their money on appearance. It's when you start to dig deep that you find all the problems. And no simple "management written" glowing review that discounts the problems will make these things go away.
With this new management worse than the prior one, I'm considering leaving after having been here for many years.
