The Decline Continues...

I am in complete agreement with the previous reviewer. Saybrooke is on the decline. When I moved in in April 2003, I found the complex to be quite and peaceful. Now, it is the complete opposite.
The kids in my building run amok after school and on weekends. They race up and down the stairs and climb on everything. My neighbors set off fireworks off of their balcony in the middle of the night and one of my neighbors tried to steal a package of mine that was delivered to their apartment by mistake. Also, it appears that Saybrooke is the weeknight hotspot in Gaithersburg as bass and loud music are constantly streaming from some apartment late at night.
Parking has never been much of a problem, but there seems to be a rise in the number of shifty characters that are hanging out in the parking areas at night.
The new management has been less than stellar. In my dealings with them, I found them to be cold and they act as though my requests are a burden to them. This was evidenced by the fact that it took two phone calls, an office visit, and seven days to get my garbage disposal fixed. They recently tried to impose some arbitrary rules on the community such as banning the consumption of alcoholic beverages on decks and patios. This is not stipulated in my lease and as far as I know local law allows the drinking on private property provided you are 21..which I am.
I am moving out in the next few weeks and there is a sense of disappointment. While I liked the reasonable rent and large apartments, I have turned away by the fact that I feel less safe every day and that management seems to be blind to its own flaws.
