Yo!

Parking is horrible and too many dogs!

Well, to start out, parking here is unbelievable! There is NEVER a place to park. People are illegally parking in handicapped and (pretty much) any place that they can squeeze their car. There are a number of motercycles right now too, which is annoying. There is marked motercycle parking but the bike owners tend to ignore that and take the regular parking instead. We are like vultures in the parking lot searching for a place to put our car. Looking to see if anyone is making their way to the parking lot or not...just in case because it could mean a spot! You're never that lucky though.

Moving on.... There are sooooo many dogs here! If you don't like dogs this is not the place to be. I liked dogs before I came here but am starting to not like them. People are very irresponsible with their pets here. I've seen some dogs fights (and by the same dog, I might add) because pet owners won't leash their animals. I find this to be very dangerous. I'm not aware of what the dog's personality is like and, personally, I care NOT to find out. Of course, there is a problem with cleaning up after the animals too. This isn't a real big problem but I, honestly, don't see these people walking around with the "tools" that are required to clean up after them. And I have seen the "stuff" on the sidewalk before, I have to admit. It's gross. I don't step/walk in the grass here AT ALL. No short cuts here, you must use the sidewalks at all times and you should still be on the look out. So if you have kids this wouldn't be a good place either. The dogs don't stay clear of the playground so I wouldn't recommend going there. I don't have kids but I've seen dogs (unleashed, of course) taking a "leak" on the playground equipment.

Another problem is that the dogs here are large. This isn't your typical "small dogs only" so be aware. The folks with the dogs won't keep their pets away from you either. As I'm walking in with groceries I don't want some strange dog sticking it's nose into my bags, it's just not sanitary. All of these problems wouldn't be so extreme if the folks with dogs would just have some consideration for their neighorborhood and those who SHARE it with them.

Now, I'll mention some good points about this place. It is pretty quiet here so that's a plus. Or are we just lucky' When I walk up the stairs to my apartment, various dogs start barking so...maybe luck.

The prices are pretty reasonable. Although I think that the neighborhood could use some flowers or some type of vegetation to add a little character, it's a little boring.

I do have to say...KUDOS to the maintenance staff. They are very responsive and fix things if need be. They're great. Very friendly crew too.

The folks in the main office building could be a little nicer. Some other fellow commented (on another review) about them being a little rude. I experienced the same thing when I came in looking to rent too. They gave me the same drill about how they don't have many apartments to rent and how they're always full. Well, there were some empty when I was looking but they weren't very friendly about it. They acted like this place was so up scale that they had no problems filling the spaces. Well, get off your high horse this isn't the Royal Palace. I don't care if you have an apartment or not, be cordial!! Say your greeting and then give your regrets.

Well, this has been a bit back and forth. There are good points and there are bad, however, you get that pretty much everywhere. This place does have a good location. It has a nice surrounding of trees which makes the place very attractive. Grocery stores and interstates are close. The mall is just around the bend. The metro is not far. DC is about 20 minutes.

I don't socialize much with the people because they all have these annoying animals. I really was a dog lover before I moved here, honest. I'm just questioning getting a dog now because of the lack of responsibility here.

So based on this come for a visit and see how you like it. Take some drives through the neighborhood and see how you feel. Check out the parking at different times of the day (of course, I emphasize, at night). The place is nicely lit at night which is good since you have to walk far to get to your apartment (I won't get started again). It's a safe place to live, which, these days is important. So check it out, it may be different for you.
