I read through the 11 responses that are listed on the review page. I can't believe some of the stuff people are complaining about. Everyone who actually has a brain knows that apartment living is very different from house living. You WILL hear your neighbors because ALL apartments have thin walls. ALL apartment complexs have issues with theft and vandalism. If you read the newspaper or watch the news you would see that most crimes occur in apartment complexs. They are easy access for burglars.

I used to live at the Normandy Woods apartments in Ellicott City before moving to Canterbury Apartments. The issues that people are complaining about here are the same ones I encountered/heard about at Normandy Woods. If you don't want to deal with those issues, then save up your money and move into a house. If not, then shut your traps and deal with apartment living. Remember, you picked these apartments and you get what you pay for.

You are an idiot. Just becasue I live in an apartment does not mean I should expect to be a victim of a crime, and if I am I should not be upset about it. I would like to see if you would "shut your trap" when some one robs you.

I too have lived in lots of apartments. Canterbury is by far the worst. I do not expectt to be treated like I am an idiot by the leasing office staff. I have a college degree, and a law school degree. I'm sure most of the office staff probably don't even have highschool diplomas, and I would be very afraid if I ran into any of them in a dark ally.

This isn't apartment living. I can deal with the noise, that IS apartment living. But the uncaring, lying staff is NOT. There are laws to protect renters which these people blatantly tread on. Believe me, I have lived in many apartments, this really is the worst. If what you say is true then please explain why Canterbury has the rating it has when almost every other similar apartment complex in the area has a significantly higher rating. It is not a coincidence. Further, do you notice a recurring theme in these reviews? STAFF. They do NOT do their job, and part of apartment living is having the owner of the complex fulfil their legal obligations, which Canterbury certainly does not. Thinking in retrospect, whoever posted this is probably someone from Equity residential. I can not imagine a real tenant being OK with treatment like this from the staff.
