Rent is cheap, but the staff is hit or miss

I moved here in August after my ex-husband and I split up. I needed a modestly priced 2-bedroom for my son and I. Overall, the apartments themselves are nice. I was lucky that I got a unit with a new washer/dryer, new carpet, new paint and a new lighting system. My neighbors are nice, but I can hear everything through the walls. I am lucky that they are pretty aware that I have an infant and generally keep the noise down.
The maintenance guys are incredibly nice. BUT the office staff is just awful. They are rude, forget calls, never put in maintenance tickets, are never in the office on weekends to get packages and are generally poor customer service reps. I am not sure if it is because they are severely underpaid (which is possible), or if they are just rude people in general.
For me, the apartment works. I can afford it (low income units are cheap here)and it is big enough for my son to crawl/learn to walk in safely. My bedroom is HUGE and the actual apartments are pretty nice for the price. You just have to learn to work around the office staff and pray that nothing breaks in your apartment. I try to avoid the office as much as possible.
ONE BIG CAVEAT - the gym is only open when the office is open, so never past 5pm. If you want a complex with a gym you can work out at after work, don't live here.
Hope that helps!
