Not the Worst Place to Live

I lived at Canterbury for about 4 years and recently moved. I read many of the reviews and haven't experienced some of the horror stories that have been posted. That being said, I did have issues with this place. First, the construction of the apartments are of pretty cheap quality. The walls are thin and the floors creak. There was nothing I enjoyed more than listening to my next door neighbor use the bathroom while I was in my bathroom. When the complex decided to replace the windows, they did not insulate properly and I felt drafts in the fall and winter.

My biggest issue was with my neighbors. The people who lived above me had kids who seemed to be out of control. On a daily basis it would seem as if they were picking up furniture and throwing it on the floor. The kids would jump on the bed and then drop to the floor with a loud thud. Other neighbors would play music so loud that my apartment vibrated from the bass. Another neighbor cooked horrible smelling food on a regular basis. The smell was bad once that it actually woke my wife and I up in the middle of the night! Earlier this year my next door neighbors thought it was a good idea to have a birthday party their kid and use a loud microphone to control the party...IT'S A 2 BEDROOM APARTMENT NOT A SOCIAL HALL!!!

My only complaint with the office staff is that it seemed that nobody was on the same page when it came to providing answers to questions.

I suppose there are worse places to live, but I'm glad I'm no longer living at Canterburry.

Yay, we are finally moving out next week. I can't begin to tell you how unhappy we were living there. The noise and the smells from the other neighbors is almost unbearable. Nothing like wanting to come home from work and relax only to walk into your apartment to some rank smell from the neighbor's cooking whilst the neighbor downstairs is playing Fleetwood Mac at full volume while the neighbor upstairs is walking across his floor in leaps and bounds.
