Years at this apartment: 2006 - 2007
We moved into a third floor, 2BR W/Loft last May and I nearly fainted when I saw our first utilities bills. They pay for nothing, including water. The four utilities we are responsible for are electric, gas, water and ofcourse cable and phone. Our electric and gas bills have been no less then $150 a month regardless of the time of the year and as much as $350 EACH! The construction of these apartments is shoddy at best. During the winter you can feel freezing air standing two feet from the windows. The gas fireplace provides warmth only if you're sitting two feet away! At $1695 plus $500 worth of utilities makes these places about $400 more than a nice TOWNHOUSE would be in ROCKVILLE. The neighborhoods ok and the maintenance people seem to be helpful but they have visited our unit ten times since we've moved in here. If your unit faces 355 then be prepared to never open your windows unless you like the roaring sounds of trucks and the ever present police sirens 24 hours a day. Cosmetically these places seem nice but when you get down to it there simply not worth the money. They're raising our rent a $100 as well. Look elsewhere. No thanks.
