Apartment dirty when we moved in and in terrible condition!

I would be embarassed to own this apartment complex. The unit was dirty when we arrived....not just dusty but actually dirty; it seems when the maintenance people repaired/replaced various walls/doors/ceilings/appliances before we arrived they didn't bother to clean up the sawdust, dirt and other debris that occurs when you do this type of work...the bathrooms were covered with a fine layer of saw dust. I asked the complex management about coming to clean the unit and never received a response.
We have been plagued by various ceiling leaks and insects since we moved in. Neither toilet in our unit was fully functional when we arrived and it took over two weeks for them to fully fix these units....and the three times they visited to repair these toilets the maintenance men left the bathroom a mess (plaster, drywall and old caulk on the floor) and old toilet parts in the bathtub. The bathroon ceiling vents are a debacle.....the one bathroom's ceiling vent sounds functional but the vent itself is so clogged with debris that it does nothing to circulate air! The vent in the second bathroom broke the first time we turned it on...the fan actually fell down onto the vent cover itself where it sat for three weeks until they came to fix this issue. The fan does move now...but there is no air circulation due to the clogged ventilation system.
Every shelf in the hall linen closet was broken when we moved in....this took over two weeks to fix. Six other shelves broke when we attempted to use them.....not to support heavy weights but to support things like blankets and sweaters! These also took weeks to repair properly.
The apartment appliances are interesting; the dishwasher is broken and they have yet to fix this issue (we've been here over two months.) The dryer contained clothing from the previous tenants when we arrived. The AC broke within two weeks of moving in....which is not at all a good thing in the summer!
The windows/screen/porch/railings were dirty and it took them three days to change the lock on our outdoor storage area (because our apartment key would not allow us access to that storage area as it was supposed to!)
If the apartment were free, I could understand these ongoing issues.....but at the price we are paying, this is completely substandard.
The various problems in the apartment have become so ridiculous that we are paying an extra two months rent in order to break our lease early...and they have not offered us any discount, refund or consideration for the shabby state of the unit.
To all potential renters....consider yourself warned.
