Me my wife and son moved in Sept. of 2007. I must say the reviews I read here made me a little cautious, but we were in a situation where we needed a place quickly. I will just say that my experience at the Gables has been very nice. I had a problem with the toilet a few days after moving in, but they fixed it pretty quick. I was almost in defense mode when I first dealt with the staff (because of some reviews)... but to my surprise they were REAL COOL. I cant lie.... that chick Garnetta (spelling') LOOKS like she will cuss you out... but I didn't have a bad experience with her either.My favorite person is Sarah (or susan..I keep forgetting her name..sheeesh ).. she is very fair.. although she doesn't seem like she takes any crap lol...(which i guess is a requirement when dealing with renters).I feel totally safe when walking in and I live on the side with woods. Sometimes I can hear my neighbors outside ..but its brief noise and then its quiet again. Thanks to the repair staff also..one of the repairmen who lives in rockville drove all the way to our apartment late the night before Thanksgiving to fix our garbage disposal (which was leaking because of something that fell in it and grinded) DEFINITELY happy about that since of course my wife wanted to start cooking that night. He gets 2 thumbs up for that. Ok.. thats about it... its comfy and I will renew my lease if i cant buy a townhouse..OH.. and I havent seen 1 roach since we moved in... not 1..lol I LOVE THAT !!! Not hood around here so I would definitely recommend this place.
Oh one more thing... you do hear the upstairs neighbors... but I think my situation may be unique because I think the dude upstairs pops viagra pills on the regular cause I often hear what i think is "exercising".. but its like 2 am...lol so just be aware that you will hear SOME noise from upstairs...but its not that bad really.
