My roommate and I are moving out at the end of June, but we've had a great experience at the Gables. The apartment was huge, rent was 2nd cheapest in the city, everything in the apt worked perfectly except for the dishwasher, and the staff were extra friendly.

Our water heater closet was spewing water once, and I called maintenance. Literally, in under a minute the repair guy was there and had it taken care of (people above us knocked the icemaker line when they were painting). That's the kind of service you get here. The desk staff (especially Sarah the manager) are always quick to take care of you.

Pros:
-Price
-Size of apartment
-Cleanliness/quality of bathrooms/carpet/drywall/exterior
-Huge closets & bathrooms
-Great staff
-Grounds kept up well
-Quiet at night, feels as safe as anywhere
-Gym is small but well-stocked with equipment and usually there's no one in there

Cons:
-If you have an old appliance that doesn't work that well, they'll be reluctant to fix/replace it. We complained twice about our dishwasher leaving spots and not washing the dishes, and both times the repair guy said "nothing wrong."
-You will have to park on the other side of the complex if you live on the side near Crystal Rock and you get back later than 9:00pm
-The lap pool's (they have a regular family pool as well) filter broke and all last summer couldn't be used. I'm going to give them the benefit of the doubt and hope that it's fixed by this year.

Overall, 4 1/2 stars out of 5. Assigned parking and replacement of older appliances would make this place an easy 5.
