You just have to ask yourself when even considering the Hamptons as to why the monthly rent is soooooo low. You want to know' It's because it sucks!! I have been living in this place since June and at first I thought it was great, affordable and looked great, but little did I know that the neighborhood would be filled with drugies and violence. I personally have been harassed and have had people randomly show up to my door at 2 AM asking for money!!! And on numerous accounts. I feared for my safety and asked the rental office if I could break my lease and they would not let me saying that I needed to have a police report and pay outrageous amounts of money. After many complaints and finally talking to the general manager they agreed to move me to another apartment away from there. I hate it here. My lease ends in June and you can bet that I will be moving out. There are constantly cops there all the time and I??m afraid to walk to my apartment at night. Also the walls are paper-thin and I had a huge ant problem during the summer. You can here every time someone walks up the stairs or closes their door. I hate it so don't move in!

Thank you so much for this review, i was looking and saw that the Hamptons was exactly what I wanted as far as looks are concerned. Some one told me, a customer where i worked, "to run as far away as possible!!". But not really believing him, I wanted to research further and this was the confirmation i needed. Im so sorry u had to go thru all that. I am a female who would be living alone and that would scare me silly. thanks so much...

You know, I've lived here for two years and I have had a great experience. These posts scared me at first, but I think these people are just exaggerating, if not fabricating, these stories. The Germantown area is very affluent! When has there been violence? Honestly, how bad can it be, we live in the fourth richest county in the US! (See http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2006/0 ) And, just so you know, the police cars, in actuality, are security patrols.

What does bieng in one of the richest counties have anything to do with it. It is also probably one of the most liberal counties in the U.S. therefore there is a ton of social programs which house low-income families, and not to offend anyone, but statistics show that with low income there is typcially a lot of crime.
