You get what you pay for at the Hamptons

I have had a mixed experience with the Hamptons. The price is great for the neighborhood, I know they are trying to clean up their act by bringing in new management and having cops live in the single buildings, but there are other troubles too. The buildings, while recently renovated, are cheap. The flooring comes up in only a little humidity, the counters are flimsy, and there is no storage space. My heater hardly works and half the outlets in my bedroom don't work half of the time. My laundry has been stolen straight out of the machines, I have had druggies come to the door demanding to be let in to use my phone, and had to call the cops with noise complaints b/c there is no onsite security. The grounds are only well kept in front of the leasing office. The leasing office is incompetent and ininterested in tenant complaints, and I heard from a former leasing consultant that they purposely put positive feedback on here just to boost their numbers.
The good news is they gave me a screaming deal. Low rent, no application fee, small security deposit. Given the choice again, I would not rent here. We're moving the second we're able.
