Good and Bad

I like to be fair, so I'll list the good and bad things about living here. My husband and I have lived at The Hamptons for over a year now, and we're moving to a bigger place next month. Good: 1) It's quiet, we never hear our neighbors or have trouble with them, 2) we always find parking close to our apartment, 3)maintenance has been quick to respond to issues. Bad: 1) the AC/Heater unit!!...it's really bad, they are like hotel units, stuck to the wall, and very noisy. Our front door also has a crack between the frame and the door where you can see light outside when the lights are off inside. This makes our electricity bill very high, the highest electricity bill we've had was $210 for a 600 sq ft apt. Our average is around $120 a month. 2)It's TINY with no pantry and no closet space. The "linen closet" listed on the floor plan is actually a water heater closet. There's 2 shelves on top where you can fit a very small amount of stuff. There's not much cabinet space either, so not having a pantry is really hard. 3) the "refurbished" apartments do not include a new bathtub even though they tell you everything is new. Our bathtub was resurfaced instead of replaced.....I can tell b/c the finish is peeling off in many places. 4) Air quality. I'm not sure what causes this, but there's a lot of mold that grows on the sliding glass door and windows. There's also a LARGE amount of dust that builds up. I can dust my furniture and it is dusty again an hour later. I think this is due to the poor AC unit, and the fact that you can see how filthy the unit is by looking into the vent. It's disgusting. If you're looking for a "nice enough" apartment for a low price (compared to the area), I would recommend this apartment. It's not HORRIBLE. But if you have a few hundred more to spend, I'd recommend taking the opportunity and going somewhere else.
