I almost didn't move to the Hamptons due to the bad reviews it had recieved but now I am very happy I did. I feel the bad responses are unwarrented. The staff at the rental office have been nothing but extremly helpful and respectful toward me. They have even gone above and beyond and helped me with for example faxing items, giving me directions and recommendations for different services and stores etc.
The area is very child and pet friendly and I see people a lot outside. Furthermore, the area is very quiet. I can't hear any of my neighbors and I have never heard or witnessed any disturbances in the area.
Other benefits to living at the Hamptons is its complimentary maintenance, its gym, pool and three laundry facilities. Rental prices and value are also very reasonable compared to the other apartments in the local area.
I would definetly recommend this place to other people.

I believe this was written by the property manager. You can hear your neighbors and it is not quiet at the Hamptons. You will always hear sirens and young men loitering late at night. Lets be truthful if anyone knows a police officer ask them to check the calls for this area and you will conclude that the person that wrote the above review is not being truthful. The maintenance men are nice especially the older ones and the rent is cheap and the laundry rooms are not always clean. I would not recommend this place to my worse enemy.

Hope Starsparkle moved there recently and may get some good deal. Belive me .. i lived there 2 years and the Hampton is the WORST PLACE TO LIVE.. not the neighborhood.. the management. Before you sign the lease they are all nice.. Once you sign the lease you will see.. The managment thinks that they are running a charity home.. they provided the free garbage pick-up (i don't know why? may be a relative or friend of the property people own that garbage company?) after a while they charged $25 for that and the funny part is whether you use this service or not you have to pay the $25/month... GOD honestly there are real good places to live in Germantown NOT IN THE HAMPTONS

I don't have any trouble with management and I have buildt a good relationship with one manager there in particular. When I first moved to the Hamptons I did notice some of the employees had a slight attitude or suspicion towards the residents. I kinda understood why when I was waiting in line and one resident made a poor attempt to lie his way out of the rent. I also noticed one employee in particular that never smiled and always seemed angry. However, I know how to handle and change these kind of people. I am always formal, calm, polite and always stop to chat. Ask them how their day is going, comment on the weather etc. Now all the employees greet and smile at me when I come to the office even the angry one you might know about. But as a side note I have always presented and subtuly reminded the staff and other people I deal with in the buisness world that I know the laws and what my expectations are and that I am willing to take actions if a problem is not addressed. I recommend everyone to document everything and be "on their case" if they need something done quickly. Of course one should always do this in a polite unemotional buisnesslike manner.
But I definetly think there is room for improvement at the Hamptons. They need to hire more staff (perhaps invest in a customer service training program since so many people are complaining about this aspect) and fix up the playground and other problems that arise.
ps nothing comes for free and when these "free" things are offered one should always take it with a grain of salt. The garbage pick up was a stupid idea, it only takes two seconds to throw the garbage in the disposals outside.
I went and asked the people at the office about the garbage pick up and learned quickly it was a free trail. And by the way unless you sign or are informed about the fees you cannot technically be charged for the service. If you got charged the 25 dollars you can porbably dispute the first payment.
pps what other places for lower or similar prices and value do you think is better than the Hamptons? I would really like to know if I need to find a cheaper or bigger place to live. The other places I have previously looked at were either nasty(some yellow complexes), had some sort of income cap, was right next to the firestation or plainly just too expensive.

starsparkle,
Seems like you're suggesting the residents do is go in the office and kiss the staffs butt? That's not how customer service works. Cynthia and Anita are the worst when it comes to customer service. The fact is that ever since Anita took over as property manager the Hamptons have been on a study decline.

Neither of them are there anymore, they have a few new people and a new manager.
You dont need to kiss A** but if you goe in with a crappy attitude that is probibly what you get back. Not that it is right but you cant talk to people any way that you want and expect them to jump through hoops to help you.
