Nice but I wouldn't recommend it

Years at this apartment: 2003 - 2003
I have lived at the Pinnacle Town Center now for over a year. I renewed my lease but the only reason was that my roommate and I did not have the time to find a new place nor the inclination to move all the junk we have acquired.
Having said that, there are a few good things about this complex and a few bad things. The good things first: appliances are brand new, the apartment is very spacious and very open and light (one of the things that attracted me to it), and there are lots of restaurants and theaters in the vicinity. Parking is plentiful.
The negatives are more abundant. I will say that this was a BRAND NEW complex when we moved in and so there were to be some inherrant flaws that needed to be worked out. I realize that and many of them were fixed in a timely fashion. Such things as the box for the phone lines wasn't installed, a ventillation duct was not connected properly were among those. As I've seen in other complaints, I too am not able to use my fireplace as it sets off the carbon monoxide alarms despite them insisting we run it for a while to alleviate that problem or opening a window (which defeats the point of running the fireplace in the winter). Also, despite them fixing one ventillation duct problem, there are many more that they have refused to fix because they do not acknowledge there is a problem. I feel there is a problem when I'm sweating inside in the summer despite the thermostat set to 50 degrees and freezing in the winter despite the thermostat being set to 90 degrees. Their solution for being cold was to turn up the thermostat (which is a problem in itself since it is upstairs in a corner which does not properly read the temperature for the apartment, but that might only occur with the floorplan I'm in, I do not know). They have yet to acknowledge this as a problem and have yet to fix it adequately. I will say that they installed a larger air compressor on the system, but that took at least six months for them to get around to.
There are other complaints but this is getting long. There are some good things about this place. It is fairly quiet and I barely hear my neighbors, but I am on the top floor. The complex should be nice once the landscaping has had a chance to grow (it is a new complex) and the roads are finally paved. However I would not recommend moving here given the problems we've had and the lack of quality assistance from the office staff.
