My husband and I excitedly leased this apartment in August of 2004. We loved the layout and the spacious bedrooms. Rent is definitley pricey, but we got a good deal when we signed a one year lease. Shortly after we moved in we discovered just how thin the floors were. We live on the 4th floor. Unfortunately there is a group of people below us that enjoy partying 2-6 times a month until after 1am. We verbally complained to the management about this situation and they instructed us to keep them posted, and to call the cops the next time there was an issue late at night. After that we submitted 3 written complaints over the course of 3 months. Each time we complained, we would get a call from the management telling us that the tenants below us were very remorseful and that "it would not happen again". When we finally had enough of the situation the managment said that they would evict or relocate the people below us, unfortunately despite our 4 complaints the management never gave a written warning to the tenants below us. So legally they had no recourse. Finally we were given permission to break our lease. THANK GOD! I have no complaint about the location of our apartment, the condition of our apartment, or anything of that nature. For the most part the management staff was very pleasant when dealing with our situation. If anything it was their lack of experience in handling our situation that was frustrating. I was not expecting to live in a dorm-like atmosphere, or that it would be acceptable for our floors to shake because of our neighbors loud music (it says in the lease that loud parties are incondsiderate and not acceptable). I would definitely inquire if complaints have been made about your future neighbors!!
