OK June 23rd was my move in date me and my boyfriend both took off work had a few friends who took off early to help us got up at 7:00am to start loading 2 trucks and 2 trailers of all our stuff so we could get there at 9:00 when the rental office opens to get the keys and hurry to start moving our stuff in, the forecast was saying it was supposed to start raining late afternoon, so we walk in and say hello today is our move in date we are here to pick up the keys we have already signed the lease and all the paper work in April with Felicia(who is now not even working there)(and I??d like to mention I called a week prior just to make sure everything with the turnover was going good and the place would still be ready on the 23rd, they say oh yes its is we open at 9:00 just come get your keys). The gentlemen looks confused ask my name and tells us to have a seat. He comes in with our folder with all our paper work says ok we have a problem you put a deposit down on an apartment she gave you that someone gave notice on and then took back they never moved out sorry. Now let me just mention I have my welcoming letter with me from Dolly that has our new address on it ( that people are still living in) from back in April, I have done a address change at the post office so now those people are getting my mail I have the cable guy coming to that address I have a couch getting delivered to that address and I started the rental insurance at that address, at that point I went off I had to practically hold my boyfriend down in that chair so he wouldn??t be put in jail!! He says people can do that give notice and not move out which is bull sh%*.. they would have people in my position in there every day.He says well we do have a few 1st floor apartments, which I was not going for my preference is the 3rd floor and that is what I want that??s what we were supposed to have and I had picked the area were I wanted the building up towards the front. So he keeps walking a way saying give me a minute need to talk to the manager( she never once came out of her office)??. He comes back says good news there is an apartment vacant on the 3rd floor in the building next door to were the original building is. ( that was one thing to be happy about) but it??s not going to be ready for a day or 2 we still need to put new carpet in it. I went off.. OK so we are homeless now our stuff is on trucks with no were to put it what should we do at that point I was in tears. I felt like I was in the freakin twighlight zone!!! He said they would give us money off the next months rent that??s all they could do for me. I said what you need to do is call 1800 emergency carpet get it out here now, that??s what you need to do when you have 2 tenants who are about to be homeless with nowhere to put there stuff!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!and its your guys F__% up?? and you tell me all this the day I come to get my keys!!!!!!!!!!!! He said they can??t do that the carpet people have a set schedule etc.. That??s when I demanded for them to do what I say get the carpet people there that day or get their corp. office on the phone. So of coarse its give me a minute I need to speak to the mgr disappears for 10 min. Comes back and says we can move in that day at 4:00 the carpet will be done.

Hello DC79, sorry to hear about your terrible ordeal. Please call Housing Code Enforcement on them at (240) 777-3785 and ask for Mrs. Linda Bird. Enough is Enough with the no-good management here at Rolling Hills. Everybody with a problem, needs to report them to the Montgomery County Government and not their corporate office. They are the same lazy people. |

I have a similar problem. the carpet in my new apt is BAd, smells and is dirty. We asked when we put the deposit down that we wanted an apt with new carpet... and then the day we move in, have the truck and everything, walk into the apt and the carpet is discusting. They call a carpet cleaner in and make th carpet all wet (and still not clean) in which we now have to put all out stuff on. Now we are trying to get new carpet and they say they will replace it, but the people at the office are so Rude. We were pretty understanding about it, But there is one guy there who acted condisending! Now we are having to MOVE ALLLLLL of our stuff out so they can put new carpet in, this is all after we foudn roaches in the kitchen and had to get the house fumigated. That was also inconvient because we had to move the animals out and all the stuff in the kitchen out too... And they are acting like we are the problem. Is there anything I can do?
