thin walls and creaky floorboards

We have lived here since November 2006 and I hate it here. My neighbors 2 floors up play music all the time with the bass turned all the way up regardless of the time of day. There is a myriad of things wrong with our apartment that could easily have been fixed before we moved in; there are pieces of molding missing, missing base boards, exposed screws, the screens do not fit the windows(allowing insects in), our front door has no seal so we can hear everything that happens in the hallway. The apartments here are huge and the price is cheap but don't let that suck you in. In all actuality, the thing that really sucks about rolling hills is the people who live here. There's your "friendly neighborhood drug dealer" in every building and a never ending plethora of loud, loitering teenagers who don't have any respect or consideration for the other people who live here. The floorboards are old so that it sounds like our upstairs neighbor is hammering things together when he's actually just walking around. We can hear the tv from the apartment above and beside us. Also, none of these noise issues got resolved when we complained. They obviously don't care about lease violations because the people here are all inconsiderate and noisy but nothing ever changes when I complain about things like gang graffiti on the front of our building ("crips live here"), unleashed pit bulls, or the young men hanging out in front of the building beat boxing with loud bass tracks on the background (which I can hear in my bedroom). Its not a nice place to be, there are no balconies or patios and the only way out of the building is through the front door which is unlocked and everybody slams. The last thing I have to say is in regards to the train which is about 12 feet from both bedrooms in my apartment. They blow the horn at all hours. We can never leave our windows open because, when it passes, you can't hear anything but the train. We also can't enjoy opening our windows because of the noise made by our neighbors. Never any peace in this apartment. When it snowed last winter, it took them 3 days to plow our parking lot and there are no reserve spots so the spot that we spent 3 hours digging out so I could get my car out, was filled with another car when we got back 20 minutes later. I hope the new management can make some serious changes and start dealing with the people who break their lease and make it a horrible place to live for everybody else.

I agree with you 100%. Due to the old company, American Rental Management, everyone needs to report them to the Better Business Bureau. They have left the new company, Bozzuto a lot on their plate. There are major repairs that needs to be upgraded and so far some of the exterior has been made. In due time, hopefully some things will get better.
