Noise, Noise, Noise and More!

I lived at Stone Creek for one year and I have to say... it was 364 days too many. The apartments are just too old for comfortable living. They are small. The kitchen is barely big enough for 2 people. There is no linen closet. Cabinet space is non-existent. Moreover, forget about counter space. The noise is atrocious. You hear anything and everything and I do mean everything. For some reason, residents love letting their doors slam shut. They promote third floor apartments to families with kids so if you live below them... forget about silence. You will be treated to a stampede of stomping feet daily... morning, noon, and night. I lived on the ground floor. The resident above me stomped like the incredible hulk running track; blasted music every weekend; and the cigarette smoke from her apartment drifted down thru the vents every night... to the point that I had to spray Lysol in the vent. I cannot stress enough that the WALLS are THIN... if you can't tolerate loud stomping, squeaking ceilings and floors... don't move here... it will be a part of your daily life. At times, the noise from above was so bad I had to run a fan to drown it out. It is really bad. I understand that living in an apartment... you hear noise... but really... it was SICKENING. Just imagine hearing a high pitch creaking floor and stomping as if someone is doing aerobics 10 hours a day, every day. The windows are old, rusted, and impossible to open so forget fresh air. I don t know where the dust comes from... but it is everywhere in the apartment. I literally dusted every three days - during the first month, daily. I d have to guess that is was from the old building and the wood exterior.
The carpet was never replaced, instead - shampooed - so any stains from the previous residents will show shortly after you move in. I would experience a power surge blackout at least once a month until I figured out I couldn't have the heat or AC on while washing clothes and using the microwave at the same time... so make sure you make breakfast, lunch, or dinner before you wash clothes... because you can't do both at the same time. It is very frustrating as well because you have to call emergency maintenance to have them reset the power from an outside box. I was often scared of starting a fire as some light switches seemed to spark when I turned them on. It became a habit to turn off all the power in my apartment before leaving. The circuit breaker outlets constantly ticked and buzzed.
In the winter, my heater broke on a 20-degree night, which took a day to fix. In the summer, my AC blew hot air for a week before they fixed it and that was after I called 3 times. Parking is ridiculous some nights and empty others... it depends on who is visiting... there are a lot of out of state residents. Parking is NOT enforced even though parking stickers are issued. The halls of the building are un-kept and dirty. A bloody bandage, several empty cups, and at least a week s worth of junk mail sat near the mailboxes and around the halls for a month before it was removed only to accumulate again. Be careful of animal doo-poo because no one cleans up after their dogs. If you want the ground floor, be careful of neighbors throwing cigarettes from the top floor. I had to put out a small fire just outside my patio from a burning cigarette being thrown over. Neighbors with plants - no gardens, on their balconies have no consideration for anyone below them. They will water their garden to the point where you think it is raining or a pipe had burst. I have come home to find my patio and the furniture-soaking wet on a dry summer day. Very inconsiderate and annoying. There were no problems with rodents of any kind... only a couple crickets. Water stayed hot for long showers or cozy baths... which was nice. Trash can be scary - depends on the season. Remodeled appliances and cabinets were nice.
Overall, I do not recommend Stone Creek Club to anyone. There are much better places to live then at Stone Creek Club. I am very happy to be moving out. If you must live here... it should be temporary... and not a 12 month lease.

Even I am a resident here and I agree the towing guys problem. The company these guy hired has criminal cases against them I did check after I read the response posted by "hritwik". The towing guy owner actually has numereous past complaint and there are quiet a few blogs on him. Actually frankly he looks like denise boyfriend. I am also not going to renew my lease here.
