Gatewater Landing Apartments
< | >
Where to begin' Living at Gatewater Landing has been a complete disaster for my family. In the past there was a security person in the parking lot at night, but not anymore. Since then there have been numerous break ins to autos, destruction of property, etc. and the Leasing office claims to know nothing of it until recently. Twice I have seen people loking in my vehicle.
There have been gas leaks, water main breaks and various other problems which have gone untreated for so long they become much larger than the complex workers can handle.
It seems that most pet owners do not pick up after their animals, despite the threats of the leasing office. There is a policy on "restricted" breeds, but I see those breeds all over the complex on a daily basis.
Children often play in the hallways of buidings, which are poorly lit both inside and out. There is no standard as to what people can have on there patios or most importantly, the ground in front of ground floor apartments. I have seen many apartment with furniture outside, sofas, cabinets and just general junk clogging up an area for the community use.
Parking is always a problem, but is also to be expected in an apartment community.
The pier and waterfront are is often filled with people who don't even live here, fishing during the day and on the pier drinking at night. It's not exactly a place you would want to walk around after dark.
Before I get the nasty, just move out, comments- I am. As soon as my lease is finished- I am out of here!

WOW! I was actually considering moving here, but I'm glad i checked this site first. And also, its funny how all the YES reviews from July 2007 came in back to back (MANAGEMENT?). Its so obvious when management writes reviews posing as residents! Another property's management did the same thing....they wrote all these YES reviews on the same day. That right there is a clear sign to STAY AWAY from a property! Thank you for an honest review!

This is terrific if this review convinced even just one person not to move here. Word of mouth can be a powerful thing. Three people at my gym, and someone I worked with who just got transferred to Baltimore, were considering Gatewater and asked me how I liked living here. I convinced them to go elsewhere. The coworker I invited over, so he could see for himself that Gatewater Landing is NOT a good place to live. It took very little to convince him! And he's so glad he didn't move here.
