Just My Opinion-- as REALISTIC as I can be

DISCLAIMER: I have read the reviews and I have my own feelings/feedback. I have paid rent on-time all the time so I am NOT a bitter or disgruntle renter.
Yes this is an affordable complex but not sure it is worth all of the headaches. These apartments are spacious and roomy, but there are some definite DEAL BREAKERS with these AFFORDABLE apartments. It is a seclusive, quiet area. I have dealt with SEVERAL office employees and they have all been pleasant with any necessary work orders. All work orders are usually answered within 2 days or so, unless the TEMP answers and they don't have a clue on what to do with your request and so you have to call back and RE-REQUEST it. Have the understanding that this is a 37-year old complex....DON"T EXPECT MUCH!
THEY HAVE JUST SOLD THE COMPLEX....SO THIS MAY OR MAYNOT CHANGE!!!!!!
My List from MY YEAR:
1. I came from NYC a year ago and was shown a nice patio apartment...HOWEVER that was not the apartment I moved into. I moved into a patio apartment where the shrubs and trees overshadowed the patio and causing a great influx in bugs during the Summer and kept the leaves in the patio.
By the way you get a 14-month lease (default choice) and anything else is EXPENSIVE.
2. The bathroom has this hideous YELLOW tiling everywhere (walls, floor, etc)! I forgot to mention the RUST that was inherited with the apartment and NOTHING gets it out. Its everywhere.
3. The filters are never changed and are dirty which causes you to dust almost every other day. So if your neighbors smokes, you smoke. Candles help though.
4. My upstairs neighbor has cement blocks as feet and I hear every move they make but then again I hear their dog running back and forth. My conclusion is that the material is not insulated enough to stop the noise factor.
5. You may have a slight SPIDER or ANT infestation (depeding on the season)in which you have to call the exterminator for.
6. SHOWERS ARE HEARD THROUGHOUT THE BUILDING. I know when all of my neighbors are running the water....very noisy if you re sleeping in.
7. EXPECT to see rusty water when you run your faucet IN THE MORNING...ONLY ;)
8. Due to the varied ages of the occupants you might have trash in the hallways (which is cleaned up by a crew) or doggie poop on the lawn. BEWARE!!!!
9. Parking is ample for residents and limited for visitors. TO AVOID being TOWED, park on the street or in visitor parkings spots. THEY WILL TOW!!!!
10. Laundry rooms are what they are they are shared with the whole building.....NOTHING MORE, NOTHING LESS
My suggestion is walk-thru, talk to residents and then go with your instinct. I may have high expectations, so you have to judge if this will work for you.

You really had nothing good to say about this place! Why would you recommend? Who really wants to rent from a place that has brown tinted water coming out of the faucet, honestly? oh, and if you have lived here for more than a year you would have seen the announcements about the theft. No security?

I was being sarcastic. If you want to live here it is the person's choice, not mine. By the way, I have seen the crime announcements but there is no security and it is a seclusive area, so I guess I expected it every now and again.
