I have lived here for almost 2 years. Overall, it has been a fairly hellish experience. However, this is the 3rd apartment I've lived in in this area during the past 5 years, and this one is overall the best of the 3.

By far the biggest problem with this place is the people who live here. The walls and floors do seem to be at least somewhat thin compared to other apartments, but, given the sort of people who live here, it makes little difference. The people in the apartment next to mine have on very many occasions played music so loudly that I was forced out of my apartment. The people in the apartment beneath mine every day listen to their television at about 10000 dB; everything else going on down there (telephone ringing, arguing, slamming of windows, etc.) is similarly ridiculously loud. People will decide to, on, say, early Saturday morning, wash their cars outside in the parking lot with all of the doors open and playing music as loudly as the stereo and subwoofers can play it.

Laundry is another interesting matter. There have been several times when someone would leave laundry in the machines (not just in the dryer -- wet laundry in the washer too) for many days at a time. It got to the point of smelling moldy in the laundry room.

When I moved in, the apartment had several problems. I noted them on the move-in checklist for repair; none of it was ever repaired. Ironically, since then, I have had a couple of instances of maintenance entering my apartment to make "repairs" that I didn't request, even when I had explicitly told the management that I didn't want that happening. Although overall, the management/maintenance here seems to be better than most in the area.

Overall, the problems with this place, although extreme, are due to the sort of people who live in this area. I haven't yet found a place (at least not an even semi-affordable one) around here that doesn't suffer from these sorts of people. I haven't moved out yet, not because I consider this place tolerable (it most definitely isn't), but because I hold little hope of finding a better place. I'm focusing my efforts on trying to find a detached house to rent, preferably one without people nearby.

I'm a FT grad student apartment hunting in Glen Burnie. One plus of this complex is that they only require 1 months security deposit and an acceptance letter for FT students. However the applicances need an UPGRADE. They look as if they are the original 1970s appliances.
