Not that bad.

So far, the only complaint I have ever had about this place is about the neighbors we keep getting above or next to us. The neighbors are always loud and rowdy. They make noises at all times of the day and night, and you can hear them talking to each other.
The Maintenance staff here has always been great for us (well, considering that the maintenance building is right next to us and they don't have far to walk or to find out what the problems really are, I guess that makes it easier on them.) We have only had times when the ceiling had to be replaced due to pipes sweating and dripping water onto our ceiling by the back door, and they would fix the leak or stop them from sweating so much, they would put new wood in the ceiling with added width so in case of anymore sweating pipes, but then it would take the one new guy a little while to get in our apartment to paint over that new wood, and then it would take him a little while longer yet to come back and do a second coat. He would say next week he would come back, and it would turn out to be 2 or 3 weeks until he came back.
The windows and the cabinets are about as old as my brother or so (he turns 40 this year), and the windows do leak in air a LOT in our apartment. You just have to be creative on how to remedy the problem like we did. We put up curtains in the bedroom, but we also put up a nice soft and thick blanket over those curtains to keep the cold air out of our apartment. It's starting to not work anymore, but we have been here for 4 years now, so the blanket is probably getting old.
Parking can sometimes be a nightmare. There have been times when I had no choice but to come home from places at 1AM and I would have to park up at 4 entirely big apartment buildings away from my apartment building. I would have to walk almost 2 blocks from that parking space to get to my apartment. If you come home at a decent time during the day, parking is ok, but Night Owls would have a Nightmare to deal with when it comes to parking.
They raised the price of the washers & dryers up from $1.25 to $1.50 about 2 years ago. They have 2 washers & 2 dryers in my apartment building, and since we live on the ground floor, the wash room is right next door to our apartment. You can sometimes hear peoples laundry making noise in the washer or dryer. Plus, if someone is using dryer sheets, DO NOT have your back porch door open. That dryer sheet smell comes right in through the back door and into your apartment. (they faced the new vent outside to point down with a wide opening. I really wished they had faced the opening towards a more of a side angle so that when the wind blows, it would pick up the smell and shoot it upwards and not down then over and up.)
Otherwise, they have been great to us with fixing stuff on time. If they would need a day or 2, they would let me know and I would pass on the information to my husband so that he wouldn't complain.
You just have to be a decent, kind person, and having a little patience does help these guys out. They are hard working people here, and just like everyone who lives here, they are just making a living for themselves, and they do have personal lives beyond this place.
Too bad we want to move due to rent prices keep going up every year we are here, and we are trying to save up to buy a HOUSE!
