Nice place to live

I have lived hear for almost 2 years. And have enjoyed living here without any major problems. I moved into my apartment without even seeing it, but the office manager assured me it was perfect and ready to go and it was. Good start. Other nice things about the place: open plan for dinning room and living room. I have a 1bedroom. Good closet space (walk in). There s a chandelier. No problems with laundry facilities, though there are only two dryers and two washers. It cost 1.50 per load. The dishwasher in my place is old, but I have seen neighbors get new ones recently. The AC works and is checked once a year along with filter and fire alarm. There are some noises that come about time to time, not sure what they are or where they come from. In the hallway you can hear inside of other people s apts, which means they can hear inside yours. I ve never heard anything from my wall sharing neighbor. Snow removal is quick. Plenty of parking, though it fills up at night. It s convenient located near stores & highways, while some stores are within walking distance. The rent is not too bad. Just had an increase to 882 from 854, but I came in paying 829. Best place I could find that seemed comfortable, working in Columbia. The other properties owned by them look like crap. There was no pet fee, I have a cat.
Had a maintenance problem where the garbage disposal didn t allow sink to drain, they sent someone out, who arrived within the hour. I called around 6 pm on a weekday. I had squirrel problem (on third [top] floor which has vaulted ceilings.) and that was taken care of in a reasonable time, this was during a snow storm. Whole process took about 2 weeks (cause they had to catch the squirrel, they couldn t kill it blah). They patched the opening on the outside of the building it had created, so far so good.
The neighbors are fine, mostly families, a few with kids, but they seem well behaved for the most part. Some loud noise with people driving by at night with radios turned up, but that is just in passing. I ve noticed there are people who drive through very fast. It s quiet for the most part though. I feel as though my personal space for the most part is respected by other tenants. There are cops and military people that live here. A neighbor has had his car stolen, but I haven t seen much else that would affect me. Plus you car can be stolen anywhere. There are no REAL amenities other than a playground, which is pretty sorry. There s no pool or anything like that similarly priced communities have. I haven t had any payment problems; I drop my check off at their drop station on time. The place is worth a look.
I don t know anything about schools, I haven t any kids. Leaving the place can sometimes be a headache if you are turning left, due to the traffic on hospital dr.
