Renter Beware

My wife and I moved here in September of 2004. We were relocating from out of state. I want to list some of our concerns below:

We have had problems with parking and subsequently were towed illegally twice.

We live in a unit where our apartment maanagement refuses to enforce the noise ordinance.

We have agressive mold growing in our bathroom.

We had a door come off its hinge and almost hit our newborn child in the head.

If it is not gigantice crickets, then it is roaches, which we did not move here with either one of the insects.

We witness the former assistant manger high on drugs.

We assume she purchased it from the several drug dealers, who stay outside in the quad all night.

We moved in to very old floor carpet that had only been partially shampooed.

We experienced a couple of incidents where management condoned a contractor stealing electricity from us and made no positive effort to reimburse us.

We lived in our Unit for almost the entire first year without a front door. This the door separating the access to the building.

Apparently, the size of our trash receptacles is inadequate because every morning dircetly accross from our apartment it looks like hell and smells like "unforgiveness."

When we moved here we were told that there was a accidental cigarette mattress fire, but everyone in the building stated, "NO, NO, that was a crack smoking session that went bad. The Apartment managers new this before we signed our lease and we did ask before we signed the lease.

These are only a few of the incidents that have occurred. So, we will not say don't move in. Yet, we will say that most of the complaints we read and wrote here are true, and perhasp illegal. If this is your cup of tea then join this community. If it is not you are part of a civilized world. In the meantime, my wife and I are trying to see how we can get the f*&k out of here.
