Bad Management, Poor Insulation, Paper Thin Walls

Aubrey, the property manager, is so incredibly condescending that I can't stand to talk to her anymore. She's also a liar. I called to speak to her and was put on hold. The person came back to the phone and said that Aubrey was in a meeting all day. I knew she was lying and got a little snippy with her. I felt bad and called back to apologize. Who answered when I called back' Aubrey, who was supposed to be in this important all day meeting. She's also vicious and coniving. I made a complaint she didn't agree with so she filed a bogus claim against me that will screw me when I want to move. In addition, she was in my home explaining the ramifications of her bogus claim and leaning all over my $3,500 tv like it was nothing. I asked her to get off it and she smacked her teeth and rolled her eyes. She is unprofessional and abuses her power. Don't ask any questions, she'll make you feel like an idiot. How dare you waste her precious time'
The insulation is so poor that we pay over $300 a month to BG&E for a 750 square foot apartment.
The walls are so thin that we can hear everything...and I mean EVERYTHING the neighbors do and watch. There's nothing better than hearing the American Idol rejects next door crystal clear as they wail away with the karaoke machine at 5 am. Or the other neighbors phone when it rings throughout the night. Or even the neighbors fighting or having sex.
Maintenance is usually quick to respond to requests, which is good because you'll need them often. Every few months the bathtub will back up every time you take a shower. The fixtures and appliances haven't been upgraded since at least the 70's. When my dishwasher stopped working I had to beg and plead for a new one for over a month before they even considered giving me a new one. When my washer died I was scolded for overloading it with laundry until the maintenance guy realized it wasn't nearly as full as he thought. He couldn't even be bothered to apologize.
Parking is terrible as well. They'll tell you there's 2 spots per apartment only. But they do nothing when people regularly take up 5 and 6 spaces leaving everyone else to park far from their home.
At night the sidewalk lights will randomly go out leaving you in total darkness. When I walk my dogs at midnight it's pretty scary when you can't see where you're going or who else is outside with you.
When we first moved in rent was $850. 5 years later it is now $1,300. That's an almost $100 hike every year and we haven't gotten anything extra in return.
