My husband and I moved into one of Southgate's two bedroom townhouses after we were married in 2004. At first things seemed ok. However, when turned in our maintenance requests things went downhill fast. There was a water mark on the bedroom ceiling which was simply painted over. We were giving a screen door for our slider that was wider than the actual glass door. Also within the first week of living there the ceramic soap dish fell off the wall in the shower. It took 3 tries for the soap dish to be properly fixed. Once these issues were taken care of things seemed to get better. Being newly married my husband and I had to renew lease again in 2005. After we renewed lease this time our roof began leaking onto our bedroom ceiling repeatedly for the rest of the lease. Maintenance came out several times and each time insisted that they fixed the problem. Having no other option my husband and I regrettably renewed lease again in 2006. In the fall of this year our shower started leaking. When asked for it to be fixed properly we were given an inspection notice. Upon the inspection we were cited for house cleaning violation due to cleaning out the oven. So another inspection was given. We were never told when this inspection would be or received any documentation as to the results of this inspection. After this inspection we were told another inspection would be given to evaluate lease renew. At this point my husband and I sent notification that we would not be renewing lease this time. My husband and I left in 2007 and are much happier for it. I would not recommend this complex to anyone because of the hassles that we went through. It was definitely not worth the stress of living there.
