Years at this apartment: 2008 - 2009
I recently moved out of The Coves at Chesapeake. I only lived there for one year, and that was more than enough. The complex smells like sewage every night starting around 6 o'clock, and there is a constant flow of trash blowing around. When we first started working with the leasing agent at The Coves, things seemed normal. We were told we would have a fully updated apartment: new siding, new windows, new flooring, new kitchen, new appliances, etc. However, upon picking up the keys late afternoon on a Friday (we were moving in that Saturday morning) we could obviously see that our apartment hadn't even been cleaned. At that point we insisted on only speaking with the leasing manager because our leasing agent was so horrible. We demanded a new apartment, and luckily were able to snag one that had just been cleaned. From that point on the service got worse and worse. Windows and doors were drafty, kids played in the dumpsters and left garbage outside of our apartment, and the updates that were promised to us never happened. We had to pay extra to keep our dog there and were told that pit bulls were not aloud. But, everyone and their brothers had pits, which just demonstrated that they were not paying their pet fees. I guess it just shows that you shouldn't be honest. If you want a nice place to live, go across the street. Don't waste your money at the over priced Coves at Chesapeake.
