I live on Faywood Ave, which I would consider the safetest and cleanest part of the whole community. Fortunately, I've never had a problem with roaches...never even seen one in my apt or building. They have cleaning ladies come through each building itself, once-twice a week to sweep/vacuum and clean windows. Each building as an intercom system and can only be buzzed in. They also have a camera at the main door, which actually just looks like a cheap fixture that was installed by punching a hole in the wall. The grounds/landscaping are very well-kept everyday. They have officers watch the area, esp. at night, but I've never noticed any problems. The community is very diverse, not just mostly one race (black, white, --------, chinese, etc.)
I am still dissatisfied with the leasing and management office staff. They are EXTREMELY fake and phony at both offices...more at leasing because they want you to move in. As far as management, they don't even try to be fake to you, they're just NASTY! Every time I call them with a question or complaint, they're huffing and puffing, as if I'm wasting THEIR time and tell me that 'they're busy and will call me back'...THEY NEVER CALL ME BACK. I'm the one always calling them back and leaving messages. The management is constantly harrassing tenants with notices and policies sent to the apt's. Most of the time they're taping notices and court/legal papers on my door for 'unpaid rent' when I PAY MY RENT ON TIME EVERY MONTH!!! So I have to call AGAIN, and they spend a couple of days trying to figure it out and will send me another notice apologizing for the 'mistake'. This has happened to me more than 3 times.
The other complaint I have is of the maintenence. When they come in, they don't even fix anything if it's too complicated. My bathroom fan doesn't work and they'll come in and 'mark' that it was fixed, when it still never works. Sometimes they'll just ignore it and not even come at all. So I'm constantly dealing with calling up management.
Besides the staff, the apt. itself is okay. Walk-in closet, hardwood floors, well-kept...decent size for just myself. For this price, I'd recommend it as the nicest in Glen Burnie. It's probably one of the cheaper & nicer ones you'll find in AACO, but still nothing special. So I can't promise that you won't complain. But that's what you should expect when living in Glen Burnie.
