Terrible (worst experiance of my life)

This complex could probably be helped by burning it to the ground and starting over. We rented an apartment here out of pure need. If we had a few weeks more to look we would have never rented here. The apartment when we took the keys was dirty. We had to clean for two full days to make it livable. The carpets are worn out and should have been replaced several years ago. There was broken glass on the balcony, he smoke detector didnt work and the deadbolt on the front door could have been yanked off from the bolts being stripped out. The balcony door opens outward instead of inward ( a major security no no) and the door has a huge single pain glass window that you could probably remove with a knife. Fortunately the bug and rodent problem is not an issue in our building but I understand it is in others and I can only hope we can keep them out of ours for the few months we plan to stay. The grounds are an absolute disaster; handrails and banisters are not securely in the ground and can be removed with one hand. Most are rotting wood that threatens to fall apart. Parking is abysmal as well. The management staff is a real piece of work. They are neither courteous or do there job properly. They were supposed to process transfer of the electricity bill to us but failed to turn in the paperwork and the bills were being returned to the power company and they were going to turn off the power. We had to do the paperwork ourselves. Also the price they quoted us for the apartment gradually increased during the rental process. Do yourself a favor and just skip this place when looking for an apartment.

Update: Without warning an exterminator arrived to spray in our apartment. We refused them entry and requested a letter from the management explaining what exactly was going to be sprayed. The letter never arrived as they promised and the exterminator arrived again.

An evil Ice cream truck with the loudest music system I ever heard sits for more then an hour just down from our apartment blaring that god awfull ice cream truck music every day.

Other residents are rude, they hang out in the hallways makeing a mess, and they are some of the nosiest people I have ever had the displeasure to live near.

I will gladly pay another 200 to 300 dollers a month to get out of this place. We are already hunting for a new home and we will be giveing them notice soon.

Update #2: 9 more days and were gone! We have decided that breaking our lease was worth it just to get the hell out of there. We are eating about $1800 for this and thats no small chunk of change but we can't stand it any more. Every day it gets worse. Most recently they have gone on a fixing up binge. Thats a good thing however there is a roofing crew out front right now makeing the most god awfull noise and no one recieved any warning to the work being done at all. A large semi/dumptruck is actually parked on the sidewalk in front of our building and a crane is lifting and lowering a large steel bucket only a few feet fromt he window. My girlfriend is in such a rush to leave she has practicaly packed everything we own already despite there being 9 more days before we can take posesion of our new apartment.

All the work there doing appears to be geared to make the place presentable and pass inspections. No real improvements are being made, its all superficial.

In final conclusion, if you enjoy rap music blaring from apartment windows, drug dealers roaming the parking lot, poilce coming to your door looking for fugitives (yes this did happen), the police on permanent station, dirt, trash, noisy naibors, god awfull smells int he hallways, vandalisim........You get the picture. Anyway if you love all this stuff move here. As for us we are O U T OUT!!!!

Final note: As we were packing up to move out a terriable smell started comeing fromt he hall closet. It appears something has died in the back wall of the closet.
