The professionalism of the staff at Windbrooke and Henderson-Webb overall cannot be beat; unfortunately it takes much more than professionalism and kind words to get the job done.
I lived here for three years and moved out August 31, 2007. It took Windbrooke three years to fix my dishwasher and fix the leak in the bathroom ceiling, even when I called daily to report these issues. However, they were quick to fix other maintenance emergencies. I never went without heating or air for more than twelve hours during the entire three years of living there. The maintenance people are quick, kind, and competent.
My neighbors sometimes worried me because they'd drink and fight until 4am outside my bedroom window and I'd wake up to find broken beer bottles at every turn. The safety of the neighborhood is abysmal; police, fire, and ambulance sirens wailed all night long each night because of car crashes, drug busts, and fires in the surrounding complexes such as Tall Pines. People who didn't live there constantly broke into our security door that keeps the building locked and would randomly buzz on your buzzer and demand to be let in.
The apartment layouts are awkward and I was unable to find a satisfying way to place my furniture, but that may just be my utter lack of creativity. Be careful with housekeeping: they visited my apartment without me being home every other day to leave some kind of note on the door, leaving me in a state of constant stress. When I called to ask what, exactly, I was in violation of, they refused to tell me! They ultimately would not renew me because I accidentally left a bag of cotton balls on top of the bathroom lighting fixture which at the time was broken. I also had a paper lamp up there since the lighting fixture they provided was broken. They said it was a fire hazard, but it wasn't a fire hazard until they fixed it and turned the light on while I wasn't home! Oops. I wish they had told me in the first place what was wrong!
Someone broke into my storage area and put all their stuff in it so I couldn't use it for the three years I lived there, even when I called to complain.
I only saw five cockroaches the entire time I lived there and they were dead: in the laundry room, in my mailbox, and one I found dead behind my bed one day. This was all during the month I moved out.
Sometimes I wish I still lived there, but I feel safer now that I've moved out.

in your response..I agree with you whole heartedly, about your review. I am a fairly new resident here, and just wanted a place I could call home. I know I will be leaving at the end of my lease. The COCKROACHES are awful in my building, and they will not take the proper measures to fix the problem. I am actually glad to hear they check up on housekeeping, that could be the main reason why I have Roaches, and have since day one.
