Of course the rental office staff was very friendly upon moving in. Then things changed quickly. First of all, I was told by the rental agent that i could pick up my keys and move my things in the day before my lease was to start, and she told me to have a money order for the pro rated portion of the rent. I get there the day before as planned and another rental agent tried to charge me for the day i was picking up the keys, mind you it was already 4 oclock in the evening. Then they walked me through the apartment and there were to small stains on the carpet, alost like bleach, Not a big deal but they insisted that someone would be by to fix it. It is a year later and that still has not happened. By the time it started warming up for hte summer months, I was able to use my AC 3 good times before I had to have maintenance at my house almost every week to fix it. It wasnt blowing cold air, it was blowing hot air. Then there was a problem with my front door. my bottom lock would constantly jam. Maintenance came to fix it and did something that i could have done myself, tightened it witha screwdriver, i said to him that the screw and hole were stripped it wasnt until i was locked in my apartment with no AC of course that they fixed it properly. Also, during the summer months my power went out at least 4 times without warning. Wait I am not done yet, Recently they allgedly have had a busted pipe, So the first time it happened I called to rental office and asked when would the water be back on. She explained the problem to me and said in about 20 minutes. No big deal right. I called them at 930 that morning, my water was not on until 2 oclock that afternoon. Then my water proceeded to continuoulsy be cut off without notice 7 times in one month. When I called the office and explained to them that it isnt the fact that you have to turn the water off to work on it, its the fact that no one knocks on your door to say hey MS. you will not have water for a couple of hours. This sucks because I am in the houde with an infant first of all and I work a night schedule. Each time I have called to the office they have an attitude and they say its an emergency. if you have 7 emergencies in the one building in one month with the pipes it sounds like you need a new maintenace team. Then as someone else mentioned I come home to find the police in my apartment complex almost every day, I dont know if i should be relieved or scared. Then last but not least,I accidentally left my car door unlocked and one of the lovely neighborhood children decided it was okay to help themselves to my loose change, my MP3 player, my car charger, and 2 videos i got from blockbuster. Did I also forget to mention that when I come home there are people gathered in the hallway smoking cigarettes. And the rental agency has no control over any of this, and when my neighbors moved out i had a roach infestation that took two months to get rid of. At first we thought this was a good deal because we got a move in special, but ask yourself why is anything discounted. oh and the laundry facility sucks. Shortly after i moved in one of the dryers broke and a year later it still isnt fixed and only every other building has a laundry room. And people steal from out of there too.
