Hear me out and make your own decision.
I moved to Woodside in 2004 and let s just say overall, I have enjoyed my time here.
The management we had before was so miserable, rude, and did not care about the residence. IF they were still here, I would say run as fast as you can away. However, the management we have here now is wonderful. I will say they will show you the same respect you show them so if you come with attitude they will try to be nice but they are not there to be disrespected. Before someone can say they are rude they might want to check themselves first. People should realize they can only do so much and are working to fix the last managements mess ups. This is a larger property so it will take time to correct all the neglect to these apartments. Though everything is not perfect, I have to thank them for trying to make this a better community.
The maintenance we have now is so much better than the guys we had before. They will take the time to fix something the right way instead of rigging it. They are understaffed and that does cause a delay sometimes. Management is trying to hire people that take pride in their work instead of getting someone that will give you half the service you deserve. For that reason sometimes you are promised something will get done on one day but things do happen and sometimes it does have to be pushed back a bit. It is a pain sometimes but I would rather wait for the quality work.
As for the disrespectful people in the area I hate to say but I believe that is just Maryland and they way people are these days. Management can not be held responsible for how people behave. Management is getting problem residence out but that also takes time to complete that legally. We do have some disrespectful people here but we also have a lot of great residence here. I loved my neighbors in my last building and still go to visit them. I am getting to know the people in my new building but they all seem to be alright. I only moved because I was going to a bigger apartment. I could have gone somewhere else but because of the changes this management and maintenance staff has provided I decided to stay in this community. It IS NOT as bad as some have made it out to be.
There is crime here but that goes with any apartment complex you go too. Where there are people there are problems. One review said they see police in the area all the time. That is because Management requested it to help try and keep the area safe and deter those who should not be here. This is not a gated community so there is no way to keep some of the problems out. Yes, there have been 2 shootings here but like I said management is doing their part to get problem residence out. I am a single female and I still feel very safe in this area. If you are worried about this area just contact the local police department for a report of crimes in the area. Compare it yourself; please don t let disgruntled residence play up the few bad things which makes this area seem ghetto. It s not the Ritz but it s not the ghetto either.
Overall, this community has been a wonderful home for me. The location is close to everything, parking is not a problem, management and maintenance is the best I ve seen since I have lived here. The apartments are a great size and they cover some of the utilities. That alone is a big PLUS. The one down side I can think of is Maryland Management Company (not the community) will take full advantage of rent increase at the signing of a new lease. They have 11 month leases here and you are signing for a new lease every nine month or so. I say nine months because you are required to give a 2 month notice if you plan on leaving. However, if you moved here and find out this is not what you want you can leave a bit earlier.
Everyone has an opinion but that doesn t make it right. You should check this place out for yourself and make your own decision. Let s be real to keep this a nice community it takes everyone s participation including the residence. Problems CANNOT be solely blamed on the management.

I think she/he was too judgemental, I lived at Woodside three times, and I agree with most of the Post, that management could do better with screening the people who combbe through. Yes as she/he is correct, that people has to do their part too in making the neighborhood a better place to live, but judging by most of the Post, the problem seems to be unruley children hanging out late and hanging in the laundry room, who hangs out in a laundry room other than someone up to no good. When I lived here in 1988-89, this was one of the best communities for young men and women, then when I moved back from 91-92, still a great place to live, then I moved there again from 1993-1994, still a nice place to live, however; now, I hear the place has gone down, it would be hard for met to back paying 1200 plus for rent, when in 1994, I paid $400 plus for a 1 bedroom, but now I hear it tripled. :-(
I don't agree that most of the people are discruntle, most people clearing state, that they pay their rent on time, they've asked management more than once to fix problems, etc. I know how apartment communities are in the 21st Century, all they do is be nice to you until you sign on the dotted line, and once you sign, you can forget the niceness missy/mr., we have locked in. I really thing some of the reviews are written by people who worked in the office.

Though I thank you for your reply of my experience living here I must say: I have had a nice experience living here (NOW) and there is no need for me to follow the others and post all negative stuff. I did state in my first posting that I did have problems here before so I am not saying my entire stay here has been great but my overall experience has not been as horrible as people have made it out to be.
I agree that more screening should be done however, how do you think we should do that when the laws limit what we are allowed to know about people. And when was the last time anyone said hey...I'm going to put down the one place where my rent was always late and where I got kicked out. No, they put down the information that is going to make them look good. So if you have any ideas of how to really do this please offer up.
I agree the rent is getting outrageous but that is everywhere and most places cost more with out any utilities included. Many of the places around here are smaller, cost more, and offer nothing included. Check it out...I did.
Sometimes we all have to take the good with the bad. You said it was a nice place to live and it still is. Most people do not take the time to say when someone is doing something right...only when someone is doing something wrong; do we speak up. Which means...your not really hearing from those who are enjoying there time here. I'm sure most of the people living here that are happy have not posted because they have not needed a place to rant or rave. Which actually makes these reviews one sided.
So once again I thank you for your reply but before you go telling someone to "Get over yourself" please make sure you have objectively read their review and make sure your reply is readable!!! Thank you.
