Lived here almost 4 years while working at the base. It's a pretty decent place to be at. Office staff have always been friendly and accomodating, and maintenance staff are quick to take care of little things. The surroundings are clean too. I enjoyed taking long walks through the Hickory Hills area, including the back neighborhoods and new condo areas.

Parking is an issue sometimes. It's not totally horrible, but it's expected from a growing area. They repaved/repainted the parking lots a few years back to squeeze in a few more spaces. But with more people owning 2 or more vehicles, it doesn't help. I liked how the entrance didn't open up straight into a busy road. But god help you once you get to Chancellors road and need to make a left. I wonder if they'll put up a stop light soon. It's a nightmare intersection during rush hours. I've seen the left turn lane backed up to the hickory hills entrance at times.

I also liked the fact there wasn't a gate at the entrance, made for quick in/out driving. But I heard rumors after I moved that they would be installing a gate... have fun! The only complaint I had in the entire 4 years was when they decided to move everyone's cable tv and internet access from Metrocast to some small unknown
two-bit little company that even I forgot the name now. What a hassle. I heard they finally gave up with all the problems and moved back to Metrocast. At least management was prudent enough to admit a mistake and correct it.

If you can't afford the new Abberly Crest apartments, this place is one of the best alternatives.
