It is such a shame how much this place has gotten worse just in the last few months. I dont know wuts going on but they are mistreating the tenants a lot lately. First of all the management is new, very rude, and they mislead with words. The older management was much nicer and so a lot of things were nicer living here. The rents keep going up on moments notice. The elevators are always promised but never fixed. The AC did not come on when the weather got very hot already this summer and if you complain anytime the management staff just raise their voice and starts yelling for no reason in an attempt to intimidate. Unlike last management who was apologetic even if they were not at fault. It seems like a pain every year when they do the switch b/w heat/AC in this building though but is even worse now with new staff. They make up excuses that there are some maintanance issues that they have to fix before they can do the switch over and I use the word excuses because there statements dont match between staff. They keep making promises they cant keep. For example, the pool usually becomes open on memorial day weekend but it did not open on time (this year) and we received a notice like two days before saying that it will not be available. I guess these things would hurt less if we were not paying for these utilities included in a "sky high" rent!! And what is up with not having an exercise room in the building like all apartment communities usually have' They have room in the basement that they can put a couple of machines in but they would much rather offer expensive yoga classes in there and no special discount for residents eihter'!
It is true that they are making a lot of improvments outside like new lighting (which are too bright btw), painting outside only, etc. They are ignoring however the more important and much needed improvments inside like old OLD elevators that are noisy and scary. The permit is expired on the elevators also so I dont know when they were inspected last. I have recently seen roaches in the hallways too and one got into my apartment! Have lost money in the laundry machines a couple of times. The maintanance response is still prompt but they usually do not fix the problem in first visit. I can see this detoriating too b/c recently some service requests I called in were just not answered. It is still however a safe neighborhood and a quite building. VEry roomy apartments. I would not trust the New management with anything though.

I will whole-heartedly disagree with this posting! Charlestowne North is one of the best places to live in the Greenbelt/College park area. I have been here for 9 months and I love it. Sure, the hallways have old carpet, but the apartments are REALLY nice. They put the money where it needs to go, into our living quarters. I have all new appliances, and I have found the management to be quite pleasant. I will post my own review with my OWN photos...

This is so false!! Things have improved 100% since the previous management left. The new management has been here since october and the building has many new improvements. Besides the fabulous location they are replacing all the windows, they are adding a fitness center and community room. Great improvements are going on they just take time.

It is now two months later no fitness room yet....again promises that are not kept. They painted our doors this ugly brown color and its cheap paint so it has already started to chip, so we got a notice and they re-painted again in one month. One of those enoying entering by staff all the time!... What was wrong with the old paint? I feel that old hallway carpet replacement is more important right now. They installed new hallway lights, although they are very nice but again what was wrong with the old ones? New windows? We got this threatening notice that we better move our stuff (very heavy furniture btw) out of the way or they will charge us $$$ for them to again invade our home and install windows..ok we need new windows but some of us are too busy and might forget or something...they want to take money wutever way possible for something that we don't care about and did not ask for too. AND For the two nice people that posted replies to my review, I have to ask that if I am such a liar, why would I say the nice things in my honest review, and why are there other negative reviews posted here? Maybe you are the manager yourself but take a note that I do not back down to bullies! Besides your x-tra nice reviews just proved me right :)
