I must say when I first moved into Charlestowne North I was DELIGHTED!!! I felt safe and it was quiet... Never saw any hoodlums hanging outside. I felt this place was perfect... no roaches or anything... WRONG!! The roaches camed about a month or so after I moved in... I had read a review about the roaches on here and didnt believe the person. Well they are right.. You may not see them but they are there. Another problem is the walls are paper thin! I could literally hear my neighbor and his girlfriend having a "good time". And it was to the point where I could hear their TV and when they were laughing. I moved my bed to the opposite side of the room and it still didnt do the trick. I never had a problem w/ the Rental Office or maintanence... This place is too exspensive though for it to not have a washer/dryer. What your really pauing for is your safety. Besides that, this place is nothing to write home about.

We moved out in early 2008 because of excessive noise. Yes, it is an apartment and you have to expect some noise, but there is a limit. The person living next door to us had bass going at all hours, at top volume to the point where it would make our cupboard doors rattle, and a constant stream of loud visitors. Also, she was carried out on a stretcher by paramedics once in the middle of the day. (I was at home, writing a paper.) Very strange. We called the police at least four times and told the management about the noise repeatedly (kept a log and submitted formal letters like they told us), but apparently no amount of evidence could fix the problem. A month or two would go by with less noise, and then it would suddenly start up again as before. The neighbor moved out, eventually, but then two people moved in who were just as bad. Again, management did nothing. I was tired of playing guessing-games and such, so I asked them to break the lease we had just renewed without a penalty. They did do that for us.

My family and I have lived in the apartment for a little more than 3yrs now. We have never had any complaints about noise, or roaches...I think the roach problem might be an isolated problem in only a few people's apt. Parking is never a problem even on a weekend @ 2 am there is always parking either or the first level or the second level by the 2nd floor entrance. I love the fact that we are close enough to greenbelt lake to watch the firworks from the balcony on July 4th or walk down the path to see the lake and buddy attic park. If there are any problems with the apartment its the fact that the price for washing clothes goes up once in a while. But besides that I really enjoy the complex and the fact that its so close to greenbelt mall and only a short 10min drive from anything else you may need.
