As a 10 year resident of the community, most of the depictions of Brittany Place in the reviews written are very accurate. Management turnover of the property is extremely high - 5 management companies in 10 years (basically new management every 2 yrs). With the economy in its current state, leasing standards are more relaxed allowing for a larger influx of DC residents to inhabit the community.
While on the subject of the type of neighbor you live next to; let's face it, most people are inconsiderate in general. What would make anyone think that people would have any consideration for the person they live next door to' The Gates of Cipriano (Brittany Place) is too large a property to manage (as conveyed by those in the management office). This is why the turnover rate of leasing and administrative personnel remains high. They are burnt out! Maintenance is painfully SLOW and extremely POOR. You can do better yourself with a class at Home Depot!
Security is hit or miss even though management swears that they do exist and do patrol the property. If you can call PG Police parked at the entrance, a form of "security" or "patrolling"'
The property was built in the 1960's and is in very poor structual shape. While upgrades to the individual units are being made, more attention needs to be placed on the building itself. To list all of the issues surrounding this property would require more space than this site offers.
Bottom line for those looking to lease with The Gates of Cipriano......take heed in all that has been written. Most of the complaints stem from a high level of frustration with poor follow through from the current and past management companies that attempt to run this community.
