Not Happy Here

Years at this apartment: 2003 - 2004
I moved into Brittany Place in October of 2003. The section that I moved into was nice then. It was quiet and clean and I had very nice neighbors. Fast forward one year and everything has gone to hell. My next door neighbors are drug addicts, they have some young roughneck thug pounding on their door at all hours of the day and night delivering weed to them. This guy spends all his time at their apartment and now he has his customers come to him there. I believe it's not just weed that he's selling. I listened to a woman beg him for ten dollars worth of stuff, saying she'd pay him tomorrow, and her begging seemed more serious than just what a typical weed head would do. She seemed to be strung the ---- out on something much more serious.
There are always crowds of delinquents hanging out, shooting dice, smoking weed and drinking. I've seen police cars parked right where they are congregating and yet there they are every night like clockwork. I wouldn't be caught hanging outside after dark. Who knows what these hoodlums are capable of.
The walls are so thin you can hear your neighbors thoughts sometimes. I've been here a year and have not seen any bugs, until some new people moved in and now I'm noticing bugs in the bathroom and kitchen. I have never had roaches so it's hard for me to make the determination of whether that's what these bugs are or not, but regardless, I'm not happy with them being here. I keep my apartment spotless and I shouldn't have to deal with the neighbors' triflingness.
Don't even get me started on the management. When I moved in, I left a check for my deposit as a form of collateral until I could change the address for my credit card. My intention was to use the credit card for the deposit and pay for my first month's rent out of my checking account. I only had enough at that time, with moving expenses, to cover the one month of rent and nothing extra. I explained this to them and they agreed to hold the check until the following Monday when I would come back in and complete the transaction with my credit card. Well I paid the deposit with my credit card online on that Monday. I called to let them know I didn't need to come in for that and that I would like the check sent back to me in the mall. Well instead of sending it back to me, they sent it to the bank, ie they cashed it! Of course I was overdrawn and that check bounced. I had to threaten them with legal action for potentially messing up my credit. They were so nonchalant about it. But by then I had already signed the lease. Now I am month-to-month until my wedding. I will be leaving as soon as my fiance knows where his new job will be.
I would not recommend this complex.
