Lakeside North Apartments

Good for UM Students From: -Anonymous- Date posted: 5/4/2004 Years at this apartment: 2003 - 2004   Good place to live if you are attending the University of Maryland. When I moved in, Grad. students did not have to pay a deposit which helped out a lot. Staff was also very friendly as I contacted them from out of state before I moved. Area is safe. It can be noisy here. I hear rush hour traffic in the morning and evening because my apartment is near the highway. I hear the upstairs neighbors constantly. If someone is in the hallway you will hear it. The air conditioning and heating system is very loud when they kick on. We had a few problems with our oven, management always fixed and responded to the issue promptly. We don't have roaches but we do live on the ground floor and in the warmer months these little black bugs do appear. It is annoying more than anything. The exterminations did seem to cut down on the number of them but they always came back. The apartment is very nice and well maintained. The management always informs you if they are doing repairs to the building or grounds. Parking is a problem if you have more than one car. But if you have to park on the street it is very safe neighborhood.
