I've lived in Lakeside North since 1995. The rent is very reasonable, the apartments spacious (though not huge) with lots of light, and maintenance has in general been good, though we have had some problems occasionally with roach infestation (which maintenance has treated immediately). The apartments are in a safe neighborhood not far from the police station, and are within walking distance of a lovely lake and trails. It is also minutes from the Beltway and from Greenbelt Metro station.
Some disadvantages is that the A/C is quite antiquated and doesn't always work well, the floors creak (and can create a lot of noise), there is a shortage of parking spaces for residents, and there are no separate storage spaces.
